IPR Specialist / Engineer / Attorney
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Specialist/Engineer/Attorney to manage and coordinate our intellectual property activities.
The ideal candidate will have experience in patent processes, industrial design registrations, freedom-to-operate analyses, and enforcement of intellectual property rights. This position also offers an opportunity to learn and develop into a patent attorney role, making it ideal for candidates with some prior experience or knowledge in patents or relevant technology.
The key responsibilities will be:
IPR Management:
- Systematic handling and management of the company’s IPR portfolio.
- Coordinating monitoring activities and ensuring active protection.
- Managing patent application processes and related coordination.
- Overseeing and supporting third party law firms in infringement cases, both defensive and offensive.
Patent and Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) Analysis:
- Conducting FTO analyses and comprehensive scanning of the patent landscape.
- Strong understanding of the company’s product portfolio, lighting industry dynamics, and fundamentals of optics to effectively perform analysis.
Industrial Design Applications:
- Preparing and filing industrial design applications independently in the EU.
- Coordinating industrial design applications globally mainly in the USA and China, supported by local attorneys or agents.
Patent Application Coordination:
- Collaborating closely with external partners and patent attorneys to manage patent application processes effectively.
What we expect from you:
- Relevant educational background (Engineering, Legal/IPR, or related fields).
- Experience managing intellectual property matters, including patents and industrial designs.
- Familiarity with patent processes and international IP regulations.
- Understanding or experience in the lighting industry and optics technology is highly advantageous.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
