TriBeCa apartment building in Moscow gets stunning architectural lighting

PROJECT

The stunning art deco architecture of the TriBeCa apartment building in downtown Moscow harkens back to an era of jazz bands and luxury seldom found in today’s modern world.

Taking its name from the neighbourhood in Lower Manhattan, this multi-purpose building is a mix of austere geometry and colour contrasts. The huge panorama windows help create a chic modern design reminiscent of early 20th century American architecture. Accentuating the detail and solemnity of such a building at night would be no mean achievement. Lighting manufacturer IntiLED, together with lighting designers Eclat Group were tasked with ensuring TriBeCa takes centre stage when the sun goes down over Moscow.

 

SOLUTION

The Eclat designers needed to make sure the beam only highlighted the window apertures without creating light pollution for the building’s residents. They chose to use LEDiL TINA, ensuring precise beam angles, light brightness and high efficiency. Ultra-precise positioning in relation to the LEDs maximised uniformity in light distribution, slicing diagonally across the rectangular facades while simultaneously emphasising the size and the shape of the window apertures.

BENEFITS

The power consumption of the entire lighting system is slightly over 1 kW. In addition to the reduced power and maintenance costs from using LEDs, the new architectural lighting completely eliminates dazzle.
